Is this you?

Hi Reader,

I celebrated my 42nd birthday last year and despite not feeling a day over 27 (and still dressing like one ๐Ÿ˜…), I can't deny that birthday hit me harder than expected.

That's because around that time, I started noticing some light perimenopause symptoms.

Of course I didn't have a name for what was happening at the time, and it's only after I had a couple of chats with women my age who were navigating the same shifts that I could finally label some of the changes I'd been noticing in my body and mood.

And on top of those symptoms, there's a specific kind of exhaustion I've been feeling lately, and I wonder if you recognise it too.

It's the exhaustion that comes from sensing something has shifted inside you while everything on the outside keeps demanding you stay the same.

Your body feels different, your energy moves in patterns you don't understand, and the strategies that used to work for managing stress or staying grounded don't seem to land anymore.

Like me, you've probably tried adjusting things - new supplements, different routines, more intentional practices.

You've read the articles and listened to podcasts about perimenopause, hormones, and transitions.

And still, there's this sense that what you actually need isn't another solution to implement, but something deeper.

What I've been craving this past year isn't another podcast or a new framework to follow.

What I need is to be surrounded by women who get me. Who understand what this particular kind of shift feels like.

Or maybe women who aren't going through perimenopause but a different type of change - physical or mental - that makes them feel lost, confused, alone, exactly like I sometimes do.

That is why Dhara and I designed A Pause in the Season.

It really came from a place of need and from the recognition that most retreats out there don't provide what we need and crave at this stage in our lives.

A space where women can finally speak about rage, grief, confusion, exhaustion without being judged.

Where rest is medicine.

Where you can trust your body again instead of fighting it.

If you're a woman navigating a season of change, if you're feeling disconnected from your body, depleted by the pace of life, uncertain about who you're becoming, if you're at a crossroads questioning your purpose and your next chapter - this retreat is exactly what your nervous system needs.

You don't have to be in crisis to come.

You simply need to feel the pull.

Because what happens when 15 women gather with the intention to pause - to truly rest, to speak honestly, to hold space for each other without judgment - is something you can't replicate alone.

I know this kind of gathering matters because I learned it the hard way.

I grew up in a household where talking about periods, hormones, bodies, and sex was treated as shameful silence, where being the tomboy felt like evidence that I wasn't doing woman correctly.

It wasn't until I started traveling and met women who spoke openly about the messy realities of being a woman - without shame, without judgment - that something shifted.

I finally understood what I'd been missing all those years: the power of being held by women who get it, who don't ask you to be anything other than what you are in that moment.

If you're reading this and feeling something - recognition, longing, relief - that's enough. This retreat is for you.

Early bird pricing closes 31 March

Ciao ciao,

Milla

P.S. If you're wondering whether you need this enough or whether it's the right time, I understand that hesitation. You don't have to be falling apart to deserve rest, and you don't have to be in crisis to need support. If you feel the pull, trust it.

09 April 2026 - Issue #029 Hey Reader, Let me tell you about my new phone lockscreen. You're either going to love it or think I've completely lost it. Both are fair ๐Ÿ˜„ Actually, let me just show you! I'm not exaggerating when I say this has been the best reminder I could give myself right now (and the best conversation starter ๐Ÿ˜…). Every time I pick up my phone to check something, I read it, pause for a second, and suddenly everything drops into perspective. It's like a constant nudge to stop...

02 April 2026 - Issue #028 Hey Reader, Guess what? After living in Bali for six months I finally left Ubud for a weekend, which I think says a lot about how much I love this place ๐Ÿฅฐ Last weekend I finally got out of my comfort bubble and drove to Sidemen for what turned into something a bit special. The timing couldn't have been more perfect considering what I've been thinking about lately. I'm truly struggling with the version of wellness that asks for more of me. More discipline, more...

26 March 2026 - Issue #027 Hey Reader, And so it happened, I experienced my first Nyepi here in Bali and I loved every minute of it. If you have no idea what Iโ€™m talking about, I wrote a blog about this very unique Balinese celebration where, for twenty-four hours, everything stops. No travel, no work, no lights, no noise. Just stillness. I wrote this the day before Nyepi, when I was still in that phase of excitement and disbelief that something like this still exists in 2026. Now, almost a...
